About Me

 

Prof. (Dr). V. Pandu Ranga received his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada-533003, India and M.Tech in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from National Institute of Technology, Warangal-506004, India in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 2009. At present, he is working as an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar, 751013. His research interests include robotics, development, analysis, modelling and optimization of manufacturing systems. He has successfully developed two variants of wall-climbing robotic mechanisms that use bellows to climb on smooth surfaces for performing cleaning and surveillance-related tasks. He has also developed an unpowered exoskeleton mechanism that supports human body weight for people who work in standing posture for long hours and for partially disabled people. Further, his group has also been involved in the development of friction stir processing set up on a milling machine to produce wires from the chips generated during the machining of non-ferrous metals. He has published about 75 technical papers in various National and International journals and conferences. He is an active reviewer of many international journals.
